Job summary

A new opportunity has arisen for an outgoing individual to work in the Education Centre as a Clinical Skills Facilitator working within the Clinical Education Team.

You will be working alongside the Senior Clinical Skills Facilitator and the Clinical Educator providing clinical skills and simulation to the multi professional workforce of the Trust.

The Medical Education Centre provides education and training programmes/events from work experience, clinical attachments, medical and physician associate students, doctors in training as well as nurses and other healthcare professionals.

The Clinical Education Team forms part of the wider Medical Education Team based in Rotherham Hospital. There may be opportunities to visit and support events across the region including at the University of Sheffield Medical School.

The role is for 22.5 hours across Monday to Friday to be discussed with the successful applicant. However, it is expected that some hours are undertaken on a Wednesday or Thursday.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but enthusiastic and busy team in supporting the Education function in the hospital.

Main duties of the job

You will help to develop, deliver, facilitate, assess and quality assure high quality clinical training programmes including clinical skills and simulation across the Trust.

We are the proud owner of a Metiman and a SimMom as well as a large and varied collection of clinical skills and simulation manikins.

The majority of the training will take place in one of our two clinical education rooms. One is a 4 bed ward and the other is set up for simulation scenarios.

Working across professional boundaries and enhance the delivery of multi-professional team training.

Working closely with a number of teams within the Trust to support the current and future NHS workforce.

The Clinical Education Team often receive positive feedback from both Health Education and University of Sheffield Medical School.
