Job summary

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Medical Electronics Clinical Engineer to join our clinical engineering department.

You will be part of a successful team providing a full range of medical equipment maintenance activities and clinical / technical support. You should be organised, professional and able to work under pressure and always demonstrate the Trusts values.

We are a busy department providing a Medical Equipment Management Service to the Trust offering a rewarding career opportunity. The role offers the opportunity of working on equipment, which is at the forefront of medical technology, whilst also becoming a member of a dedicated Healthcare Team within a caring environment.

The ideal candidates will be qualified to the following levels (or equivalent) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Clinical/Medical Engineering: HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Clinical Engineering.

Any experience in equipment maintenance of complex electronic equipment will also be taken into consideration. A good understanding of the modern healthcare environment with its developments and challenges would be desirable.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the county and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the skill mix of the department and deliver service provision to a wide range of Medical Devices where specialist knowledge and ability is required.

To carry out acceptance testing including functional and quality assurance tests, electrical safety tests, planned maintenance, calibration, repairs and defect investigation on a wide range of medical equipment or devices used for patient care. To respond to sudden, unforeseen, urgent or emergency demands whilst also ensuring that the routine work is completed.
