Clinical Nurse Specialist HIV

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the HIV CNS team across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire for NUH.

The HIV CNS are part of the multidisciplinary team that care for approximately 1200 patients living with HIV. The role requires working autonomously as well as part of the multidisciplinary team, supporting and treating both inpatients and outpatients.

Teaching both internal and external agencies is also an element of the CNS role.

Main duties of the job

The main duties include informing newly diagnosed patients of their HIV status and performing partner notification.

Administering treatments and performing venepuncture.

Attending multidisciplinary meetings to discuss treatment and plan of care for stable and unstable patients.

Wellbeing and social support for both inpatients and outpatients.

Education and health promotion.

Safeguarding.

Teaching professionals one to one and in group settings.

Women's health - including ante natal support.
