Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1.0 WTE Clinical Psychologist to support the growing Major Trauma team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The East Midlands Major Trauma Unit is one of the busiest trauma centres in the UK, with some of the best outcomes clinically. It has been established since 2012, but is nowlooking to add to the highly valued existing Clinical Psychology provision within this area.
The post holder will have a regular physical presence on the East Midlands Major Trauma Unit at Queens Medical Centre, in order to be physically available to support patients, their families & staff members on a face-to-face basis or at limited times, via telephone or video consultation. The service will be delivered in collaboration and consultation with senior Clinical Psychology staff, & Major Trauma Unit staff. Supervision will be provided by the highly experienced & supportive Consultant Clinical Psychologist already working within the Major Trauma Unit.
The Department is a large, growing, cohesive and highly specialist group of clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists committed to the unique value of clinical psychology in acute healthcare. We have excellent links with the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and the regional Clinical Psychology Doctorate Courses
Main duties of the job
To provide staff support in Major Trauma by way of the following:
o A regular physical presence on the unit
o Physical availability to support staff on the unit
o Availability to support staff by phone or email
To provide patient & family support in Major Trauma by way of the following:
o A regular physical presence on the unit
o Physical availability to support Major Trauma patients
o Availability to support families by telephone or face to face.
