Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Health Advisor to join the team at Nottingham and Nottinghamshire sexual health services. We are a busy patient focused service providing HIV and sexual and reproductive healthcare to the population of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Our main hubs are GU Medicine at Nottingham City Hospital and Retford Hospital. There are many spoke and outreach clinics throughout Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
We are looking for someone with sexual health experience, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to work autonomously and as part of the multi disciplinary team .
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist nursing care by assessing, examining and treating patients with sexually transmitted infections. Carrying out partner notification and health promotion. Safeguarding vulnerable patients, child and adults. Support and signpost patients with risk reduction to improve their sexual health.Take responsibility for the care of a caseload of Sexual Health patients requiring specialist Sexual health care.Provide advice, information, education and counselling to patients who attend the department and to those who are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection or require contraception.Work within multi-disciplinary teams, providing specialist advice to clients within the hub, spoke and outreach clinics.
