Job summary

The Estates Operations Manager (Engineering - Electrical) is a role created by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to manage a new cross-site in-house team. This is a really exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to make a huge difference - improving the service we offer to patients, reducing the Trust's energy costs and helping our estates department become less reactive and more proactive.

Main duties of the job

The Estates Operations Manager - Engineering shall develop and produce plant replacement and major infrastructure development programmes to suit their Mechanical and Electrical lead responsibilities for the Trust.

The post holder is responsible for the operational management of mechanical and electrical engineering services (dependant on core discipline) for a designated site and for management of the maintenance services including effective management of the allocated resources.

To provide expert specialist / professional mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to Estates Operations Officer's - Engineering, other Estates and Facilities Managers and Estates Staff and Clinical Managers.

To undertake Authorised Person / Responsible Person / Lead Person responsibilities in relation to specified facility systems including legionella, piped medical gases, high and low voltage electricity, water, gas, steam, fire alarms, pressure systems, lifts and generators.

To effectively manage a designated budget, meeting financial targets and ensuring full compliance with Standing Financial instructions.

To deputise for the Head of Estates Operations as required.

To set and monitor Key Performance Indicators for the area maintenance service.
