Specialist Dietitian - Paediatric

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen for a Dietitian within the Paediatric team at Nottingham Children's hospital to cover maternity leave.

Are you a dietitian keen to expand your clinical experience in paediatrics? Do you have a passion for improving patient outcomes with the best nutritional care?

We are looking for a forward thinking and enthusiastic dietitian to join our established team of paediatric dietitians, based at Nottingham Children's Hospital at NUH. You will become an integral member of our supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high quality, patient centred dietetic care.

You will manage a varied inpatient and outpatient general paediatric caseload (0-19yrs) which can include children with allergies, faltering growth and children who need nutrition support. Previous paediatric dietetic experience is desirable but not essential.

You will be a core and valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, comprised of consultants, other allied health professionals, specialist nurses and social workers, delivering high quality evidence-based care.

You will be responsible for the supervision, training, and support of students and more junior members of the team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for a busy caseload. You will be required to work across both inpatient and outpatient settings, to provide specialist care to infants and children in collaboration with their families/carer and the wider MDT.

  • HCPC registered
  • Qualified Dietitian ( degree, post-graduate diploma or equivalent)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Member of the BDA
  • Validated courses

Experience

  • Relevant post-graduate experience in specialist area
  • stablished knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group.
  • Demonstrates effective ability to prioritise a large caseload.

  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills including explaining, negotiating, motivating and training.
