Job summary
There is a requirement at Nottingham University Hospitals to replace most of the current Radiometer Blood Gas analysers due to their age. These IT connected Blood Gas Analysers will be replaced with the newest model with the same supplier.
Under the direction of the Point of Care Manager the postholder will lead on the verification and implementation work for the 31 analysers in accordance with UKAS accreditation. They will be expected to work collaboratively with Clinical teams, different Trust teams (Clinical Pathology, Clinical Engineering, Digital & Information, etc) and suppliers across the 2 main sites (QMC and City campus) to ensure the safe training and implementation of these new analysers onto ward areas.
They will have good communication and written skills and must be able to communicate concisely, effectively and clearly.
Main duties of the job
Under the direction of the Point of Care manager the post holder will:
- Lead on the evaluation and implementation of the new IT connected Blood Gas Analysers and assist in working towards ISO:15189:2022
- Collaborate with clinical teams, Trust teams and suppliers to implement processes and procedures that are compliant with NUH Trust Policies and ISO:15189:2022.
- Take delegated responsibility for the supervision, training and coaching of staff.
- Assist with the production, maintenance and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and Competency Documents.
- Must be able to plan own work activities and those of supervised staff.
