Job summary

We are searching for an individual who is looking for an exciting new challenge. You will be responsible for the ordering & put-away of products ranging between clinical and non-clinical items around Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), helping across a variety of stock control areas, working closely with the Ward leads, your fellow Receipt & Distribution Operatives and reporting directly to the Materials Management Team Leader and ultimately the Senior Supply Chain Manager. The scope of operational work managed by this team is significant - the full roll out of materials management at NUH is run from this team and there are some large and exciting projects to be a part of in the coming years.

Main duties of the job

Provide a second to none service for our end users.Ensure that worked areas are kept tidy and stocked to approved levels.

Put away stock / non-stock as required per department.Work closely with ward staff members, facilitating stock requests.Maintain a duty of responsibility and care to patients at all times.Support savings initiatives within the wider procurement function.

Your working pattern would consist of 37.5 hours per week, 8am - 4pm Monday toFriday.

Job responsibilities

Provide a professional, customer focused Receipt & Distribution service to all userdepartments.To order stock (on set days as well as ad-hoc/urgent requests) for clinical & non-clinical areas using a variety of different ordering systems.To put stock away where orders have been raised for.Housekeeping by way of breaking down cages and disposal of boxes and packaging.Reconciliation of delivery notes to orders placed.Ensure stocks are managed appropriately and cost effectively, whilst meeting the customers departmental or area needs. Including the removal, return or disposal of excess or redundant stock and assisting with high urgency product recalls following safety alerts.In liaison with senior and clinical colleagues, identify and explore opportunities for potential cost savings for the Trust, whilst maintaining quality standards, including the rationalisation and standardisation of medical and surgical products.Assist with statistical analysis and production of management reports as required: including the review of KPI's.Organise appropriate stock delivery processes and housekeeping.Maintain a high level of communication with wards/departments to ensure customers. Including but not limited to: ensuring awareness of any delivery shortages. Being aware of correct storage of goods in compliance with fire and infection control regulations (identifying risks as necessary).Maintain a high level of communication and interaction amongst the Materials Management, Supply Chain and wider Procurement teams to ensure the sharing of best practice and knowledge.Actively build and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, key customers and external organisations, to a consistently high standard of customer care.Should the need arise, provide operational support for the wider supply chain function (Materials Management, Receipts & Distribution and Break Bulk) across all Hospital sites.In support of customer requirements, undertake awareness training if provided in medical and surgical products and develop commodity knowledge.
