Job summary

Due to Maternity leave, an exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic nurse to join a highly specialist and passionate team. This is an ideal role for someone looking for a change or new challenge and gain experience in a clinical nurse specialist role.

The current CLL population is estimated to be around 900 patients under the care of the CLL service at NUH.

The role will involve delivering a high quality, specialist service within the CLL team acting as a source of advice and information for patients, carers, and health professionals and work in collaboration with the Lead CLL CNS.

Main duties of the job

As the CLL CNS, you will work alongside the Lead CLL CNS and CLL consultants to see all new patients on diagnosis to offer further information and contact details.

The role will involve taking part in nurse led clinics seeing patients on active monitoring, mid treatment blood monitoring and counselling for patients needing further support and treatment planning. As well as two further telephone clinics for those not requiring face to face appointments, Holistic needs assessments and treatment follow up.

The role will involve maintaining and developing a quality service with specialist CLL nursing care and being part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Along with the medical team and other members of the MDT as appropriate, ensure patient care plans are updated and changes implemented in good time.

To be involved with development of the service, contribute to strategic planning of team projects, identify potential impacts on resource requirements, make adjustments as necessary.

  • o Current registration with appropriate professional body.
