Job summary

Ward D35 is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated receptionist to complement our existing friendly team. We cover a wide range of surgical specialties providing inpatient care to children from 0-18 years, and you will be expected to support our patients and families throughout their journey.

Our service operates 24/7

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable. You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information.

Your involvement in our team will help fulfil our commitment to delivering excellent quality care to our patients. Duties include greetingpatients & visitors when they arrive onto the ward, booking appointments as well as clinical note preparation and supporting the nurses with any administration tasks as required.

You will be answering calls, speaking with patients and their relatives and communicating within the team. It will be expected that you will carry out the day to day duties which will include answering calls, dealing with relatives, patients and staff, making up admission packs, admitting and discharging patients on/off the system in a timely manner to ensure flow.

Filing, photocopying, pharmacy, cleaning, tidying, stocking and ordering are a few of the responsibilities you will have on a day to day basis.

You will work closely with the team and will be expected to use and be competent in Careflow, Notis, and any other ICT required to perform the job.
