Job summary

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team of 3 WTE Paediatric Neurologists, with specialist clinics in Ataxia-Telangiectasia, Neuromuscular disease, Epilepsies, Syncope, Sleep Disorders, and Headache. The successful candidate will have 3-4 clinics a week, when not on call, including outreach clinics in the region. They will be admitting consultant for paediatric neurology about 1 in 4, partake in 1 joint ward round a week, and be non-resident on call about 1 weekend a month.

Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible, or be within 6 months of the date of CCT at interview. Applicants should have MRCPCH or an equivalent qualification.

About us

The Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a high calibre Consultant Paediatric Neurologist, to start as soon as possible. They will have experience in Neuro-rehabilitation, Neuromuscular Disease, and Epilepsy, and there is scope for them to develop their own special interests. This position is for 10 programmed activities a week.

The candidate will have the ability to offer expert clinical opinions on a comprehensive range of paediatric neurological problems both in elective and emergency cases, and be able to manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be expected to contribute to undergraduate teaching at the University of Nottingham's School of Medicine, as well as undertake post-graduate teaching, training, and educational supervision.
