Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior nurse to join the respiratory team as ward manager on Lister 2 Ward. This is a 13 bedded ward which cares for patients with a variety of respiratory conditions including pulmonary fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Asthma, Pneumonia, lung cancer, pneumonia and respiratory failure. Lister 2 is the non invasive ventilation (NIV) ward within respiratory and cares for patients requiring acute set up of NIV and therefore has 4 monitored bed areas.

We are looking for a visible leader who is a professional role model dedicated to high standards of care and patient safety. Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills with experience of managing change.

The respiratory service uphold themselves to provide patients with a first class service, we are a strong supportive team and welcome you to join us. We have a team of clinical nurse specialists that support our service and 2 respiratory clinical educators. You will be supported by your peer band 7 ward sisters, and a senior nursing team.

You will have a period of induction into the role and be assigned a buddy ward manager for support. Various development opportunities will be made available to you to develop your leadership and management skills to run a highly effective ward/department.
