Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Paediatric Respiratory Service at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, QMC campus.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for delivering high standards of care to join our team. Excellent communication skills are essential to this role. You must be reliable and able to work flexibly in partnership with an experienced clinical support worker as part of our wider multi-disciplinary team. Following appropriate training, you will undertake clinical and non-clinical duties working autonomously to provide the day-to-day running of the sleep study service and a comprehensive administrative service for the respiratory nursing team.
The post will be 22.5 hours per week split over a minimum of 3 days (excluding weekends and bank holidays). The post requires working Friday, flexibility with other working days ensuring the core service hours of 0930-1400 are covered.
Main duties of the job
Key performance areas include:
- To work as a member of a team coordinating the organisation of sleep studies for children and young people attending Nottingham Children's Hospital.
- To run a daily clinic, demonstrating how to use sleep study equipment to ward staff/patients/parents/carers, distributing equipment, and answering questions they may have.
- Provide a comprehensive administrative service for the sleep study service and respiratory nursing team.
- Data entry and maintenance of databases, supporting the team with monitoring quality such as service evaluation.
- A point of contact for service users and health professionals.
- To ensure sleep studies are downloaded and upload reported sleep studies onto electronic patient records.
- To liaise with secretaries and consultants, book and outcome appointments.
- Develop health promotion and education in conjunction with other health care professionals ensuring that all patient care within the multi-disciplinary team is based on research.
