Job summary

This exciting role involves supporting the coordination of the Skin MDT meeting. It is a 30-hour per week position focused on cancer care, offering highly valuable, visible, and rewarding work that makes a significant impact on our patients. The role combines clinical MDT team coordination with meeting facilitation, where our experienced cancer clinical team makes critical patient treatment decisions.

The successful candidate will build strong working relationships with clinical and administrative teams across the Trust, providing ample opportunities for networking and innovation in current working processes.

Key working relationships will include members of the administrative and clinical teams, such as nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals, and support workers.

This position is recruited and trained by the Nottingham Cancer Centre and will transition to the Ambulatory Care division, ultimately based at the Nottingham Treatment Centre, Queens Campus.

Main duties of the job

The key responsibility of this role is to provide administrative facilitation for the Skin MDT meeting. This includes preparing, organizing, and circulating agendas, minutes, and results.

The post holder will support departmental audits by gathering information and maintaining databases. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and experience with database management. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves interacting with a range of patients and colleagues. Excellent teamwork, negotiation, and organizational skills are also crucial. Above all, the candidate must be committed to delivering excellent patient care.

The role involves collecting data from various sources and communicating with a large clinical team. The post holder must be proactive, ensuring that results are chased to discuss patients at the MDT in a timely manner. They will be responsible for escalating and troubleshooting issues and contributing to proactive solutions for routine problems.

As the MDT Coordinator, you will support teams in meeting local and national cancer targets. This includes taking minutes, maintaining appropriate records, and producing reports related to MDTs as needed.
