Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 clinical support worker to join our diverse and motivated team in Oncology Outpatients. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to cover the unit 08.30 -19.30, Monday - Friday

Experience in an hospital setting.

Excellent written and verbal communication

Willingness to complete ECG, and venepuncture competencies. Support available from Registered staff and Clinical Educator.

They will be a team player but able to work independently as necessary

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist clinical skills e.g venepuncture and ECG

Accurately obtain and document patients results

Prepare results/documents for clinics.

Able to prioritise own work load

Assist in taking and recording patients observations.

Report to registered nurse all concerns about patient's condition.

Be a good team player

Assist meeting the comfort and hygiene needs of patients.

Deliver efficient, effective care and communicate between the multidisciplinary team, patient, relatives and carer's.

Able to support and supervise new starters.

Act as the patients advocate ensuring that their best interests are met.

  • GCSE grade C Maths and English or equivalent
  • Completion of NUH Care certificate
