NUH Trust is recruiting a new Estates Operations Officer (BMS) role as part of a new in-houseBMS team led by the Estates Operations Manager (BMS).
This is a really excitingopportunity for an experienced BMS Engineer to make a huge difference - improving theservice we offer to patients, reducing the Trust's energy costs and helping our Estatesdepartment become less reactive and more proactive.
The Trust is currently installing a new Schneider EcoStruxure BMS and will be providingtraining to all staff in due course.
Main duties of the job
As the Estates Operations Officer (BMS) is a new role within a new team, we wouldenvisage the first 3 months in post being spent getting to know the existing systems andprocesses. There will be a requirement to build up key relationships with estates and ITcolleagues.
The role is a 'hands-on' role, assisting in fault-finding, repair and upgrading of the Trust'sBMS system. The role will work closely with existing workshop staff and Estates Engineers,
supporting them as required.
The team will be responsible for updating BMS system graphics, programs, trend logs and
infrastructure to meet the strategic aims of the wider department. The team will be based
from individual sites but will work across the Trust's 3 sites at Queens Medical Centre, City Hospital and Ropewalk Hose as required. With the rollout of the Trust's new CAFM system there will be a requirement to build asset lists for the BMS and maintain these in conjunction with the Trust's asset manager. As a hospital BMS manages critical life safety systems the role comes with a high level of responsibility, an ability to build good relationships with estates customers (clinical staff and patients) is essential. - Wiring Regulations Certificate
- C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing
Desirable
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Any Amendment)
- Undertaken a structured training course in Schneider Ecostruxure
- Masters level or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

- Evidence of continuous professional development to remain up to date with advances in building services engineering.
