An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic individual to join the Radiology PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) Team at NUH. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated to help deliver an efficient PACS service to the Trust. This is a permanent post working in an interesting and expanding team.

The PACS Support Officer role in Radiology is a key post in ensuring digital images are available to clinicians across the Trust in a timely manner. The PACS Support Officer will assist in the day to day operational activity of the PACS service and in addition, will work in clinical areas to resolve problems, and ensure that PACS users gain the maximum possible benefit from the system.

The post holder will support the PACS Manager and Deputy PACS Manager in liaising with those responsible for ICT systems within the radiology department and the Trust.

This is a non-clinical post, where the emphasis lies with providing support within Radiology and Trust wide. The successful post holder will have administration experienceideally in the NHS, socialcareorhealth related setting. You will be able todemonstrate initiative andproblem solvingskills and should enjoy working in afast pacedenvironment,prioritisingyour own workloadand achievingdeadlines.

The main responsibilities are:

To assist with importing images onto the PACS system and ensure that patient images are entered accurately on to PACS for review by clinicians.

To manage the housekeeping of PACS data and monitor and improve data quality to ensure aspects of risk are managed.

To analyse and interpret malfunctions to hardware and software with recommendations for correction where possible.

The PACS Support Officer will also assist in offering technical support to Radiology colleagues and assist with the provision of general IT support as required within the remit of the role to the Radiology Department.

The successful candidate will use their own initiative to organise workloads within defined deadlines facilitating clear communications to a wide range of individuals.

The post holder will be required to travel between the QMC and City Campuses in Nottingham and on occasion travel off site to other Health Service Organisations and external Suppliers.

In undertaking this role, the employee is expected to conduct themselves professionally and courteously at all times, consistent with and actively supporting the Trust values which are listedbelow.
