Team Leader - Food Production

Job summary

The post holder will work as a member of the Food Production team and supervise a large team of chefs & assistants in order to provide a high quality food operation for our patients. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that a high standard of food is continuously produced including main courses and vegetables, salads, bakery and therapeutic diets.

The post holder will be based at City Campus but may be required to work at QMC should the need arise.

Working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts between 06:00 & 18:30 Monday to Sunday. Rota pattern

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and food safety in the Food Production areas.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the production of all types of food is made to the expected standards required of the department.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all areas of Food Production are staffed to the agreed levels and that the Trust Food Safety Management System is implemented and maintained.

  • City & Guilds 705 1/706 2 or NVQ equivalent or suitable experience gained through formal training and/or equivalent job experience.
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
  • Food Safety Level 3 Certificate

Experience

  • Procedural knowledge ie., sickness policy, food safety, food hygiene
  • Catering and cleaning equipment knowledge
  • Specialist catering knowledge
  • Supervisory experience in a similar size catering operation
  • IT skills including general administration, operating catering specific applications and the use of online ordering systems
