Job summary

This is a key leadership role within the Institute of Care Excellence, supporting and enabling the Institute Clinical Lead for Quality, Innovation and Transformation in relation to local accreditation and care excellence standards; including relevant national/international accreditation programmes. The post holder is responsible for the development of systems and policies supporting nursing and midwifery care excellence across the Trust and within the Institute for Care Excellence. This includes initiating and developing a long term strategy for care excellence aligned with ANCC programmes

Main duties of the job

Specifically the remit involves:

Planning, conducting and supporting high quality clinical improvements and innovations, ensuring alignment with reporting standards for ANCC accreditation programmes and driving the local accreditation programmes.

Providing expertise in design, development, analysis, and dissemination of new knowledge and the use of evidence to guide and support clinical practice.

Advising Divisional Nurses and their teams to deliver an integrated excellence in care strategy for their Division.

Working collaboratively, autonomously, and with authority arising from the use of knowledge and skills, to deliver, shape and develop scientific nursing and midwifery research across organisational, geographical and professional boundaries.

Acting as a catalyst of change for practice and service development, challenging and redefining professional and organisational boundaries.

  • NMC Registered nurse or dual qualified nurse/midwife.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or closely health related degree.

  • Post graduate teaching and assessing qualification.

Experience

  • Recent experience at a senior level including project management, change management and multidisciplinary working.
  • In-depth understanding and experience of Local Accreditation, ANCC Magnet/Pathway to Excellence Accreditation programmes
  • Experience of leading and managing large improvement projects/study.
  • Evidence of having achieved challenging organisational targets.
  • Experience of leading projects in a complex organisation.
  • Experience and understanding of key nursing and midwifery objectives and how research and education links to the Nursing and Midwifery strategic plan
  • Experience of teaching, developing and facilitating innovation programmes to the inter-professional team across health and social care settings.
