Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Engineering Technologist to join a large team in a busy medical equipment servicing unit.
This post is ideal for an experienced Technologist looking to progress their career in a challenging and busy environment. Alternatively we are looking for a Technologist seeking to improve their experience and capabilities.
This post will include activities, selection and evaluation, acceptance testing and installation, calibration, planned maintenance, repair, routine safety testing, decommissioning and disposal. These services are provided for a defined range of complex electro-mechanical medical equipment within the care of Clinical Engineering that are owned by or used by the Trust and certain organisations outside the Trust.
We are looking to appoint into this post from the 1st September 2024.

Essential
- Good quality academic qualifications in engineering / technology; Masters or equivalent (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree + post-qualification training)
- Extensive additional theoretical knowledge acquired through CPD (professional short courses, personal study, conferences)
Desirable
- Honours degree in Clinical Technology/Electronics or equivalent
- Registered Clinical Technologist
Experience
Essential
- At least 3 years' experience as a technologist.
- Experience in fault diagnosis.
- Specialist knowledge on the maintenance and repair of a range of highly complex devices
- Use of Office and other equipment specific software packages.
- Disassembly and reassembly skills
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical electronic engineering
- Ability to use equipment management data bases
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of working in a Health care setting
- Knowledge of MHRA Managing Medical Devices April 2015
