As the Head of Strategic Planning, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic Strategy team; leading organisational planning and programmes, but often working closely with other corporate teams and the local health system; experimenting and solving cross-cutting system issues which are not limited to a specific clinical area or strategy. They will support the Deputy Director of Strategy in the development of the organisations plans and delivery of the Trust's strategy and vision.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have substantial:
experience of developing organisational and clinical service strategies within a large complex organisation
experience of delivering organisational level planning processes to support the development of multi-year Trust plans and implementation of national planning guidance
previous experience of mobilising and running multiple, large scale programmes simultaneously, blending the problem-solving skills necessary in the early phases
previous experience managing large teams drawn from different departments/teams
excellent influencing and stakeholder skills and the ability to operate autonomously at the most senior levels, i.e. CEOs, board members.
excellent analytical skills and a first-rate intellect, including qualitative and quantitative skills. The post-holder will show mastery of these skills and be able to impart them to more junior team members.
