Job summary

The Programme Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the NIHR RehabHRC. They will manage the delivery of the HRC key performance indicators (KPIs) and work closely with the Director(s), Theme Leads, Innovation Manager, PPIE Manager, industrial partners and other stakeholders within the NHS and outside.

RehabHRC is centred on the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) with three partners NUH, the University of Nottingham (UoN) and, Loughborough University (LU). It is expected that the post-holder will work closely with these organisations. Moreover, reflecting the East Midlands thriving HealthTech ecosystem the post-holder will work with other organisations across the region.

A key objective is to ensure maximum operational efficiency in the selection and execution of high impact R&D Projects based on identified unmet clinical needs and collaborations between clinicians/patients, academics and industry.

Main duties of the job

Work closely with the HRC Directors, Theme Leads and Innovation Manager to develop and lead the implementation of the HRC Programme.

Be the visible and accessible first point of contact for information, advice, guidance, support and training on all aspects of the HRC for partners and potential collaborators including industry (SMEs), NHS staff (clinicians, mangers, commissioners), academics, the third sector (e.g. patient charities/support groups), NIHR and KTNs.

Promote the role of the HRC nationally and locally through personal networking, website, publications, conferences and social media.

Liaise closely with the HRC Theme & Project Leads to ensure effective execution and delivery of projects including monitoring adherence to milestones, deliverables and costs.

Work with the Theme Leads and Directors to create the required networks and lead the ongoing liaison and engagement management of these groups.

Provide project management support for the implementation of and ongoing operational management for the HRC Operations Management Group, Internal Steering Board, and Independent Advisory Board.

Provide the key link between the HRC PR/comms strategy and the project and theme leads within all partner organisations to ensure maximum benefit of the HRC PR work.

Manage the HRC website to ensure delivery of key strategic objectives.

Collate information on HRC activity and outcomes for reporting to NIHR, operations group, steering committee etc.

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject
  • Significant experience as a research/clinical trial manager
