Job summary

A great opportunity has arisen for someone to join our team on a 24 month secondment/fixed term opportunity into the role of E-Rostering Project and Implementation Officer.

Working closely with our chosen supplier, you will work methodically to implement e-rostering across our junior doctor workforce and in a small number of consultant groups. You will help to design implementation plans, and work alongside our Junior Doctor Co-ordinators and specialties to replace existing spreadsheet based rotas with e-rosters, ensuring a smooth transition within the agreed timescales. You will also train key stakeholders in the use of the system.

You will need to have a strong background in rostering and also have great communication and teaching skills to be able to train and support system users.

You will help to co-ordinate the roll out of e-Rostering across the medical workforce and ensure, ultimately that all departments are using the system and seeing the operational and financial benefits via KPI reporting.

You will be supported by the Assistant Head of Medical Workforce, who will have overall responsibility for the implementation project.

In summary, you will be highly organised, a great communicator, and good at explaining concepts and systems to others. You will be confident to work independently and work closely with your e-rostering colleagues to learn from each other to assist the roll out.

You will work closely with our chosen e-rostering provider, making the most of the system's capabilities.

About us

Our Medical Workforce team run several services including the junior doctor co-ordinator team, medical bank, central absence service, appraisal and revalidation, job planning, workforce planning, trust grade programmes, support with hard to fill posts, policies and procedures, medical pay and much more.

We are a supportive and friendly team, working across both sites of the Trust. We work closely with recruitment, payroll, medical management, the post grad centre and the medical directors office.

  • Educated to A level or equivalent or Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration or NVQ level 4 or equivalent NHS experience

Experience

  • Significant recent experience within a Medical Workforce role, including designing rota templates.
  • Experience of understanding of key legislation relating to doctors in training
  • Working knowledge of rota management and creation.
  • Experience of training others on new processes and concepts.

Planning and organisation skills

  • Ability to manage a heavy and diverse workload, prioritising effectively at all times
  • Able to work under pressure and concentrate on tasks, such as rota building for prolonged periods.
