This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work within Main Outpatients at Nottingham City Hospital at the Nottingham University Hospitals. You may be required to work across campuses (City/QMC/TC)

We support Outpatient clinics for various specialties meaning there is lots of variety within this role.We are looking for a dedicated, patient focused HCA who is committed to providing the highest standards of nursing care for our patients.This is an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant. We offer a supportive teamwork structure and an opportunity to further your skills. You will work closely with a highly skilled workforce including Registered Nurses and Specialist Nurses.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to carry out a number of designated tasks, of which will involve direct care, in support of and under the supervision of a registered nurse in the outpatient setting.

Act as a chaperone for the patient and clinicians.

The successful applicant will work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.

Following appropriate training and assessment, undertake clinical and non-clinical duties in support of the registered nurse.

The post holder is not required to hold statutory qualifications.

Support and training for this role will be provided within the established team. Within Ambulatory Care Division we have access to our dedicated Clinical education team.

Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, carry out nursing procedures following verification of competency and assist with the care and treatment of patients.

This may include: assisting with and meeting the comfort needs of patients, chaperoning patients and clinicians within outpatients, escorting patients to and from the toilet.

The taking and accurately recording patients temperature, pulse and blood pressure. Also patients height, weight and Body Mass Index.

Ensure that patients are helped to retain and maintain their dignity and individuality.
