Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Surgeon within Trauma & Orthopaedics, specialising in pelvic and acetabular trauma reconstruction.
This is a substantive, part time position that will be predominantly based at the Queens Medical Centre Campus for the trauma practice, with the option of some sessions at the Nottingham City Campus to support the Elective Orthopaedic group as required.
We anticipate that the successful post holder will demonstrate a commitment and genuine interest in orthopaedic trauma surgery. They must have completed a revision hip fellowship and a trauma fellowship in a Major Trauma Centre. The successful post holder will have also trained in complex acetabular reconstruction (revision hip surgery and post traumatic reconstruction).

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to join the 1 in 12 trauma on call rota on a minimum of a 7 PA job plan. On call responsibilities will lie within the trauma unit based at the Queen's Medical Centre, home of the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre.
As part of the on call, the job plan will include one fracture and one trauma operating list each week, with the option of a monthly commitment to an elective orthopaedic hip revision list.

There may be the opportunity to provide elective orthopaedic clinical sessions in due course depending on further departmental retirements.
