Job summary
We are looking for a Registered Practitioner who is enthusiastic and experienced, to join the Safeguarding Team at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust. This position will be full time, fixed term or secondment considered for 1 year. Approval will be required from your Line Manager before applying for the secondment position.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the safeguarding team, we are looking for someone interested in a fixed term contract for 4 years to support survivors of domestic abuse and work closely with the Emergency department, wards and out-patient teams and community partners to safeguard survivors and their families.
The successful candidate will work within the midwifery, children's and adult safeguarding teams and be provided with relevant training and support to undertake the role.
Flexibility will be required to work across the adults, children's and midwifery safeguarding teams where required.
The post holder will act as a resource for members of the multidisciplinary team and facilitate an environment of learning to promote the development of staff, and will also support Mandatory Domestic Abuse Training.

Working in collaboration with the Safeguarding Team to support the day-to-day service delivery to enable the provision of high quality, specialist support to women who have experienced any form of Domestic Violence.You will hold a small caseload, providing pro-active, emotional, and practical and advocacy support to women.
Main duties of the job
Provide leadership and be a proactive role-model in the clinical environment leading practice development and professional development relating to domestic and sexual abuse across all Directorates at NUH.
Develop and expand learning and education resources for clinical teams in acute care relating to domestic and sexual abuse aligned with national best practices
Provide leadership, advice and support which is evidence based, and fosters a learning culture which values and responses to the needs of survivors of domestic abuse
Work in partnership with the Clinical Leads, matrons, ward/department managers to ensure the multi-disciplinary team all work together to achieve agreed, common goals/outcomes in ensuring awareness of domestic and sexual abuse remain a high profile within all clinical activity in the trust and in ensuring highest standards of care are maintained.
Continue to work with key clinicians in the on going development of educational initiatives and changes in clinical practice focussing on improving the experiences of survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
Continue to build on networks across professional boundaries locally to develop, inform and share best practice in domestic and sexual abuse including key charity organisations like Juno Women's Aid and Equation
Support an evaluation of the job role.
