Job summary
The RAU is a 20 bed admissions unit developed for the assessment of respiratory patients. Patients can be referred for assessment if they are thought to be experiencing a respiratory illness. Patients can be referred from the community or other areas of the hospital. The post holder will triage these calls and co-ordinate the unit.

Main duties of the job
Triaging admissions, leading the nursing team, working alongside the medical team. Supporting junior staff and student nurses.
Supporting the ward manager in their duties ie. eroster, DATIX, appraisals etc.

It is essential that you are able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to support the development of the stroke service. The successful applicant needs to have excellent organisational and time management skills with an aptitude for problem solving. You must have excellent clinical knowledge and skills, demonstrated through completion of competency packages . You will need to be a good communicator, be self-motivated, provide high standards of clinical skills and have the ability to influence and drive innovative practice within a face growing and exciting speciality setting.
