Job summary
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a full time band 7 advanced practitioner OT to join our Parkinson's MDT team.
The team comprises physio, OT, nursing, SLT and support workers and assesses, treats and supports Parkinson's patients from new diagnosis through to end of life. You will be working as part of a dynamic, supportive multidisciplinary team who are passionate about delivering excellent patient care. This may be on city campus or QMC campus. In the future there may be OT input required in community locations.
As advanced practitioner for the MDT you will be responsible for the provision of providing high quality OT clinically to these patients and have the skills and knowledge to be able to link in with the wider MDT including community teams. Having skills in mental health and neurology is key. A background knowledge of HCOP would be an advantage but is not essential.
You must have a passion for staff development, service development and a proven track record of providing high quality training and mentorship for a range of abilities, including face to face teaching, appraisals and clinical supervision.
You will be able to work using your own initiative, be a supportive team member and be comfortable making decisions within the scope of the role whilst demonstrating an understanding and inclusive manner with your team.

You will provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and essential rehabilitation in an OP setting to patients with Parkinson's disease.
The post-holder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, actively engaging in and contributing to service improvement projects and developments within the specialty.
