An opportunity has arisen for the above role within Pathology IT @ NUH.

The role has a key job to play in helping maintain and support the pathology lab and staff as well as look at the migration to a new LIMS.

The role will encompass the day to day support of all areas within as well as outside pathology that interact with the service and help ensure the service is operational 24/7/365.

Main duties of the job

The role has a key job to play in helping maintain and support the pathology lab and staff.

The role will encompass the day to day support of all areas within as well as outside pathology that interact with the service and help ensure the service is operational 24/7/365.

  • To maintain, support and develop the LIMS and its use at the Nottingham University Hospitals.
  • To be able to provide expert advice and technical /operational support, in conjunction with the Pathology IT team, to all Pathology Information System users.
  • To be responsible for troubleshooting the laboratory Clinisys linked I.T systems including WinPath, Path Manager, SunQuest ICE, and SampleNet.
  • To help to ensure that any system upgrades or patches are communicated implemented in a planned and timely manner, consistent with operational and strategic plans.
  • To mange the team and work, both project and routine day to day operations.

About us

The post holder will be based at City Hospital and Queens Medical Centre and will be expected to participate in the PathIT On-Call rota which ensures there is service is operational 24/7/365.

We provide 24 hour PathIT cover for both the pathology service based at City and QMC campus of Nottingham University hospitals.

  • To have the ability, after training, to set up and be responsible for overseeing the addition of new laboratory test codes / clinician / source codes and be aware of the configuration of the laboratory request and result rules base within WinPath.
  • To help and devlop the proposed Winpath Enterprise solution
  • Help with the migration to WinPath Enterprise.
  • Take a lead in project work.
