Bone Marrow Transplant Programme Quality Manager

Job summary

The post holder has a key role in maintaining the Quality Programme and supporting the BMT Programme Clinical Programme Director and respective Collection and Processing Directors who have overall responsibility for the Quality Programme as part of the overall requirements for JACIE accreditation and HTA licence maintenance.

The department has an established quality management system and has had JACIE accreditation in place since 2005.

The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of the quality management service for the Bone Marrow Transplant programme at Nottingham City campus, facilitating the achievement of all standards required to comply with our Human Tissue Authority Licence for the human application of stem cells and for accreditation by the Joint Accreditation Committee for Bone Marrow Transplantation within Europe (JACIE).

The post holder will be based at City campus.

Main duties of the job

o Maintenance of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) within the BMT Programmeo Facilitate the development of new documents and continuous improvements to enhance the functioning of the BMT Programme.o Coordinate and monitor the internal audit systemo Compile and present an annual report relating to Quality Issueso Be responsible for organising monthly Quality Management Group Meeting, including circulation of agendas and minutes and acting as Chair.o Participate in Departmental Governance meetings and processeso Undertake investigation of incidents, clinical audit and risk assessment.o Undertake/supervise required reporting of events internally via the Trust Datix system, and to external authorities relevant to the BMT programme e.g. HTA.o Monitor corrective actions, providing coordination and support as required.o Undertake required submissions to national Specialised Services Quality Dashboards and Quality Surveillance Information Systems.o Supervise data collection and submission of BMT programme annual follow up data by data managers for national BSBMT Activity and Outcome o Support others undertaking audit and research activity in collaboration with Research Audit (R+D) Department.o To liaise with Clinical Educators to ensure the appropriate ongoing education of the nursing staff.o To work with the Training Programme Director for the Haematology Higher Specialist Training programme to ensure the appropriate ongoing education of the ST grade staff.
