This is an exciting opportunity to join Nottingham University Hospitals as a Student Nurse Apprentice, working in collaboration with either Nottingham Trent University or the University of Derby to gain a BSc in Adult Nursing.
Entry Requirements
Three level two qualifications and a level three qualification
Level two qualifications must be inclusive of;
- Maths and English GCSE A-C/4-9 or Functional skills equivalent PLUS a level two Health or Science related subjected.
PLUS
Level three qualification equating to 112 UCAS points.
OR
Applicants with current and relevant work experience who achieve 96 UCAS Tariff Points and above may be considered for recognition of prior learning (RPL) and experience (RPE)
The course will start September 2023
Main duties of the job
As an Apprentice with NUH you will complete your Nursing Degree Apprenticeship and qualify after 3 years 3 months, debt free, as a Registered Nurse.
As well as having your fees fully funded throughout the 3 years, you will also receive an Apprentice salary.
You will have access to;
o A dedicated Institute of Care Excellence team, offering continuing professional development (CPD) education support and career development advice. This includes: a well-established preceptorship programme, a medicines safety training session, a five day acute care skills (ACS) foundation course, and one to one clinical support where needed to ensure you get the best start to your career at NUH.o Guidance and support in choosing your starting clinical speciality.o Access to an established Shared Governance programme, giving our workforce a voice and supporting a culture of innovation.
About us
Please note that the UK government require non-UK nationals to have lived in the UK for 3 years to be eligible for apprenticeship funding.
On completion of this three year programme, Nottingham University Hospitals will offer you employment as a Registered Nurse and ask that you commit to minimum of 18 months post qualification time at the organisation.
You will then be supported though a period of preceptorship as you navigate through the role of a newly qualified nurse.
You will be supported by the Institute of Care Excellence throughout your training as a Student Nurse Apprentice and be very much a part of Team NUH.
