Job summary

An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Dermatology Service at Nottingham University hospitals as a Cancer Care Co-ordinator.As the Cancer Care Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will play a key role in helping with the delivery of cancer targets for the trust by ensuring that the journey of each cancer patient runs smoothly and is progressed in a seamless and timely manner.

Main duties of the job

To support the Skin Cancer team in delivering a high standard of support to patients with cancer. This will involve being in daily contact with patients. The post-holder will be expected to support and signpost patients over the telephone and progress their care pathway in liaison with other colleagues and departments in the hospital. The post-holder will also be expected to be involved with Audit and Peer Review processes.

The post holder will need to be flexible and self-motivated with a good attention to detail and the initiative to work independently as well as a team. This post is key in providing high quality information and ensuring patient's progress effectively on the cancer pathway.The post holder will work closely with staff across the wider trust including clinicians, general managers, deputy managers, nurses, secretaries and other administrative staff.

  • To work as a member of the Skin Cancer nursing team and providing patient coordination and care.   • 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including English Language
  • Experience and competence in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • NVQ Level 3 in Admin, Customer Services or a Health or Social Care qualification or equivalent experience

  • Significant admin experience including use of clinical systems
  • Recent experience of working within an NHS setting
  • Experience of handling highly sensitive information
