Here at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH), the HR function supports specific divisions, whilst also cross working. We have two amazing opportunities due to internal moves within HR to support our Estates and Facilities Directorate.

By helping the Trust deliver on this strategy and other people plans, you will play an active and positive part in supporting improvements to NUH being the best employer, which will ultimately support our patient's experience and journey. It's a hugely rewarding role where we'll give you everything you need to develop your HR career.

With demonstrable experience of working in a busy environment you will be a dynamic and committed individual looking to take the next step in your HR advisory career. Day-to-day, you will be the first point of contact providing professional, timely advice and guidance directly to managers within Estates and Facilities to facilitate the early resolution of employee relations issues, so your previous experience will be greatly utilised.

You will work closely with the Assistant HR Business Partner and HR Business Partner, to provide a credible HR service, advising managers on the application and interpretation of Trust policies, procedures and guidance to ensure consistency, accuracy and best practice, supporting disciplinary, grievance, performance, wellbeing and attendance management issues and meetings. You will also help to prepare and deliver HR operations related training and other work across the HR Directorate. Develop good working relationships with all line managers and employees in order to be able to understand their needs and plan for that area and provide appropriate people related support. With our support, you'll also help to move forward change management programmes, implement national initiatives and achieve national HR performance targets.

Naturally, you will be a person who is supportive, understanding, a great listener, ability to interpret policies, and someone who wants to make a difference. In this role it is important that you feel comfortable in all kinds of employee relations meetings, including with union representative employee support, so someone professional, confidential, and is to happy make conversation with all kinds of people is a must.

About us

The office days are Monday to Friday, and we encourage and offer hybrid working with a mixture of office working (minimum 3 days a week) and working from home (2 days a week), this is not compulsory, and you are welcome to work in the office 5 days a week, we encourage face to face. As the Trust is spread over different campuses, namely City and QMC, you are required to attend both at least once a week. Due to the fast paced role, environment and support required, these two roles are full time to ensure consistency and to ensure minimum delay in supporting the Directorate, wider HR team and Trust.

Your kind spirit and compassion for others is part of who you are. You're a team player, with a great personality, who is outstanding in your own field, respectful of your colleagues, who thrives in a busy environment, willing to support employees and managers. It is important that you appreciate inclusivity and that you promote it.
