Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lead Specialist Screening Practitioner within the Nottinghamshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
You will be leading a team of Specialist Screening Practitioners (SSPs) to deliver a high quality, effective and forward thinking screening service.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of care to the screening population identified by the screening programme across multiple sites in Nottinghamshire. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required to maintain and develop relationships within a wide range of internal and external contacts.
The successful applicant will be required to complete the Screening Practitioner's course run by Liverpool John Moores University on the September 2023 programme.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a first level Registered nurse with evidence of post registration experience and professional development within leadership roles.
A postgraduate qualification to degree level is required.
The ability to be flexible & organised in the workplace with a passion for delivering a quality and successful service is essential.
We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, innovative and flexible individual with the ability to prioritise a potentially demanding and diverse workflow and to work on his/her own initiative and as a member of a growing team.
The hours of work at present will be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 7pm with flexibility to suit the needs of the service
The service is looking to expand its capacity and the ability to work until 9pm and weekends may be required in the future .
About us
The Nottinghamshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (NBCSP) is hosted by Nottingham University Hospitals Trust (NUHT) with Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust (SFHT) working in partnership to provide the service to Nottinghamshire. This requires the post holder to have the ability and willingness to travel between sites and therefore the use of your own transport is essential. The aim of the NHS BCSP is to reduce mortality from colorectal cancer within the Screening population.
