Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior cardiac catheter lab nurse in our busy, progressive and dynamic service based within the Medical Division of the Trent cardiac centre at Nottingham University Hospitals.

The patients within this specialty undergo elective and emergency procedures for heart related conditions. Our service is innovative and forward thinking using non -invasive techniques.

The hospital takes patients from across the East Midlands, including Nottinghamshire, Derby and Lincolnshire. Our cardiac catheter labs provide key support to the East Midlands primary PCI service and for any patient requiring access this emergency intervention 24 hours a day.

Main duties of the job

Senior catheter lab staff are highly skilled in scrub and circulating roles and act as a second operating role to the consultant or registrars on a daily basis. You will be part of the on-call PPCI team and will help provide 24 hour cover to provide this emergency care. On a daily basis you will act as team leader within your lab and provide guidance and support to your junior colleagues, including career development and appraisals.
