An exciting opportunity has opened as the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse on ward E17.
Based in Nottingham Children's Hospital, E17 is the in-patient ward for the EMEESY (East Midlands, East of England, South Yorkshire) Children's kidney and urology network. We admit children and young people from all over the region with complex urology and kidney problems including dialysis and transplantation. Ward staff work closely with the multi-professional team and the haemodialysis unit which is co-located. The ward also admits children from general medicine and other specialities as necessary.
The successful applicant will need to be an inspirational leader who can motivate and develop a team. Excellent communication skills are essential to this role.

We will expect you to take managerial, clinical and professional responsibility for ward E17 and ensure the co-ordination and the development of a designated team of nurses that you will line manage.
You will work closely with the matron for medicine and other ward sisters within the Children's Hospital to ensure the provision of children renal and urology care is excellent and the patient journey is positive.
You will work in collaboration with the specialist teams including consultants, specialist nurses and the operational teams within the children's hospital which is critical to ensure services are running smoothly and waiting list targets are met as a whole team approach.

We are a major trauma Centre, and the Children's Critical Care unit works closely with the Emergency Department in providing front line care for trauma patients.
