We are excited to advertise 4 Assistant Practitioner Apprentice posts within the Radiology Department at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH).
The apprenticeship is a two year programme to become an Assistant Practitioner in Diagnostic Radiography. Academic study will take place at the University of Derby and clinical training at NUH. Study for this apprenticeship is by day release and funding will be supported by the Apprenticeship Levy.
On completion, you will have obtained the core skills, knowledge, values and behaviours to become an Assistant Practitioner, and be eligible for a post as a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner at NUH.
There is an opportunity to continue to study, in order to become a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer. For motivated and caring individuals this is a supported and funded step on the long term career pathway to becoming a Radiographer.

The role of the Apprentice Assistant Radiographic Practitioner is to carry out a limited remit of plain film radiographic examinations under the supervision of a HCPC Registered radiographer.
The post holders will rotate across the QMC, City and Treatment Centre Campus in order to gain a thorough understanding of the large range of work undertaken within the NUH Radiology Department.
Whilst, this role is primarily a clinical training role there will be a requirement to undertake some duties of an Imaging Assistant, supporting radiographers and patients to ensure that the service is efficient and patient-centered.
