Job summary
The Nuclear Medicine Section comprises approximately 40 individuals working between two sites (Queen's Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital) and operates 4 SPECT/CT gamma cameras, 4 bone densitometers, networked HERMES workstations and a radiopharmacy service. The service also manages the Nottingham PET/CT Centre.
The Nuclear Medicine clinics perform a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and non-imaging investigations (these include nuclear cardiology, oncology, paediatrics, gastroenterology and orthopaedics) and also provide a growing molecular radionuclide therapy service (Iodine-131, Radium-223 and SIRT).
The Bone Densitometry Clinic performs a full range of bone densitometry investigations on behalf of various specialties within the Trust and for GPs, and is part of a fracture liaison service for the assessment and treatment of older patients with low trauma fractures.

The duties will include supporting the provision of a diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine service based at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
This will include undertaking clinical reporting of nuclear medicine, PET and general radiology investigations (the indicative job plan is provided in the attached document). The successful candidate will work closely with the exiting team of radiologists to grow the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Radionuclide Therapy services at NUH.

DUTIES
The appointee will be expected to fulfil the following duties with the agreed job plan.
Clinical
A full range of emergency and elective patients are admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the appointee will be responsible for the management of those NM patients admitted under their care.
The appointee will join the existing team of three NM radiologists and will support the growth in demand for NM services. With their consultant colleagues they will provide a comprehensive elective NM service and reciprocal cover for periods of leave.
The persons appointed will be required to contribute to the provision of NM and PET/CT services at Queens Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital sites.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary meetings (MDT), teaching, research, audit and continuing professional development.
