Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the management team of the Acute Care Pathway within the Clinical Support Division, in one of the UK's largest Acute Teaching Hospitals.

Working with the Acute Care Pathway Leadership Team as Pathway General Manager you will provide operational and strategic leadership to ensure that all operational performance targets including financial, workforce and service improvement targets are achieved. You will report into the Clinical Support Division General Manager and will work with the Divisional Leadership Team and other Divisional and Specialty/Service Teams to ensure optimal performance and service integration. In doing so, you will contribute to the development of services within the Acute Care Pathway, Clinical Support Division, wider NUH Trust, and where appropriate, the wider Nottinghamshire health and social care system.

Main duties of the job

This role offers you the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills through collaborative multi-professional working with relevant senior colleagues across the organisation. Within the Acute Care Pathway there is:

  • Theatres & Anaesthetics
  • Critical Care
  • Resuscitation
  • Spiritual & Pastoral Care

You will be expected to lead on modernisation/transformational projects within the Acute Care Pathway including service re-design and any associated workforce change requirements, as well as developing and maintaining robust performance management systems to ensure that each area delivers on its patient and workforce targets, holding others to account for delivery.

About us

Working with the Pathway Clinical Director, Lead Nurse and other members of the pathway Leadership Team, you will manage all services and service planning across the pathway taking responsibility for the achievement of performance, quality, finance and workforce KPIs to ensure the best clinical outcomes and patient experience. You will have a key role in identifying and developing opportunities, and supporting the teams to develop and have approved Business Cases for services, equipment and infrastructure development.

  • oFurther training to masters level or equivalent experience
  • oPrevious successful management experience at a senior level within the NHS
