Job summary
The Clinical Haematology team at NUH are looking for a new colleague to join their integrated forward thinking service. This is an opportunity to join a nationally leading centre at the forefront of research and clinical innovation in haemato-oncology. This is a new substantive post within the Malignant Haematology team, reflecting the increasing academic commitments of the team and complexity of care. The successful candidate should have a demonstrable clinical and research interest in CLL or myeloma.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work alongside the three current myeloma consultants and 2 CLL consultants, supported by myeloma fellow, CLL/lymphoma fellow, four clinical nurse specialists, and a large clinical research team. The candidate will have an opportunity to be centrally involved in active clinical research programs within CLL and myeloma.
This role offers opportunities to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, educational supervision, and research and leadership roles within the specialty.

The post-holders will join a team of 11 other Consultants offering a full haematological malignancy service and will have a special interest in CLL and/or Myeloma. The appointee will join in the attending rota with Dr Martinez-Calle (CLL) and Drs Frances Wadelin, Dean Smith and Kandeepan Saravanamuttu (Myeloma). The appointee and will provide weekly acute (haemato)-oncology (AOS) service cover on the specialist receiving ward unit and provide advice to primary care through the GP advice and guidance service. The appointee will actively contribute to the weekly CLL and Myeloma MDTs.
