Job summary
The post holder will be expected to co-ordinate and manage all clinical studies and other research activity within the Emergency Department and Critical Care whilst working as a member of the multi-professional clinical team. The post holder will take a central role in the development of research capacity under the Head of the Department of Research in Emergency and Acute Medicine. To lead, mentor, support, supervise, coordinate, line manage and undertake annual PDRs for Research Nurses/AHPs/Research Staff allied to the Clinical Research team within DREEAM and at times work clinically alongside them to support studies. They are expected to co-ordinate the portfolio of research studies that the team works on to ensure adequate volume of work to maintain the team. They will liaise regularly with the Research and Innovation finance team to ensure that the work the team does is invoiced for as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
The research manager will be a self-directed practitioner who will work closely with the trust and departmental leads (primarily the Emergency Department and Critical Care but any department in which we do research) to develop, manage and organise patient based research
They will be responsible for coordinating the overall running of the research studies and ensuring that the lead nurses/practitioners for each study are supported to be able to perform their required tasks
