Job summary

To undertake all technical duties in the Sterile Production Unit, participating in the provision of all aseptic and sterile manufacturing services, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and MHRA guidance, to ensure a high-quality, safe, timely and consistent service and contributing to the overall operation of the department.

To work unsupervised in all aspects of sterile batch production, specialist aseptic dispensing activities, clinical trial material preparation, CIVAS activities, cytotoxic reconstitution services and Neonatal, Paediatric and Adult TPN, manufacturing complex sterile and aseptic products in isolators and laminar air flow cabinets.

Main duties of the job

In addition to the summary below you need to familiarise yourself with the full job description and person specification.This interesting and varied role will require you to process and manufacture a wide range of sterile products including Parenteral nutrition bags and chemotherapy. The work will be varied and challenging, working to tight deadlines to achieve targets and respond to customer needs. You should be able work under pressure, prioritise and organise workloads and be able to work alone or as part of a bigger team.We are looking for confident self-motivated individuals with excellent IT, communication, problem solving and decision making skills.To work unsupervised in all aspects of sterile batch production, specialist aseptic dispensing activities, clinical trial material preparation, CIVAS activities, cytotoxic reconstitution services and Neonatal, Paediatric and Adult TPN, manufacturing complex sterile and aseptic products in isolators and laminar air flow cabinets.

About us

Youll need to be able to work 37.5 hours over 7 days of the week as required and as the service develops, you may be required to work a shift system. The department offers a weekend and bank holiday on-call service which you will be expected to participate in once fully trained.If you are a skilled and motivated Technician looking for the next career step, then you should consider applying for this role.

Training and qualifications

Essential

  • BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy services or equivalent
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC

Experience

Essential

  • Working in a Pharmacy team
  • Familiar with Pharmacy electronic systems

Desirable

  • Experience of dispensing aseptic products
  • Familiar with Ascribe

Communication skills

Essential

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to integrate into a multidisciplinary team
