Are you enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate about supporting patient rehabilitation? We are looking for a highly motivated Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal (MSK) Therapy Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established multidisciplinary team comprising physiotherapists and occupational therapists. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal injuries. You will assist in rehabilitation programmes, promote functional independence, and contribute to safe and timely discharge planning. Key tasks include:

  • Supporting qualified therapists in delivering rehabilitation and exercise programmes
  • Assisting patients with mobility and activities of daily living
  • Monitoring patient progress and reporting outcomes
  • Participating in group and individual therapy sessions
  • Supporting digital data collection and documentation in line with service developments

Youll be joining us at a pivotal time as we review and modernise our therapy services, including the implementation of digital solutions to enhance both staff and patient experience. Main duties of the job

As a valued member of our Orthopaedic MSK Therapy Team, you will work under the supervision of qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists to support the rehabilitation and recovery of patients following surgery or injury. Your day-to-day role will involve assisting patients with mobility and exercise programmes, promoting independence in activities of daily living, and contributing to discharge planning to ensure safe and timely transitions from hospital to home.

You should be able to follow treatment plans, observe and report on patient progress, and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Confidence using digital systemsor a willingness to learnis essential, as we continue to implement service improvements that enhance patient and staff experiences.

To thrive in this role, youll need to be adaptable, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Previous experience in a healthcare, therapy, or rehabilitation setting is essential, alongside a genuine interest in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic care.
