An exciting
opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our SEQOHS
accredited service based at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
You will provide a specialist
physiotherapy service for the treatment of staff with musculoskeletal
conditions at Barnsley Hospital. As an autonomous practitioner, this will
encompass specialist Occupational Health Physiotherapy assessment, treatment
and management of members of staff within BHNFT and BFS with musculoskeletal
disorders.
The successful individual will act as a
source of expertise and work closely with Occupational Health Nurse
Practitioners, Physicians, Moving and Handling Team, Human Resources, Health
and Safety Department and CBUl Managers regarding an individuals fitness to
work/return to work. This may include a workplace assessment to prevent/reduce
the risk of musculoskeletal injury to staff, patients and the public (others).
Main duties of the job
The Occupational Health Service is responsible for assisting
managers in delivering the Trusts objectives, in particular:
By responding to the professional developments in Occupational Health
practice and health and safety legislation;
By the
development of new initiatives and policies to ensure that the organisation
operates lawfully and minimises health and safety risk to staff, patients and
visitors;
By the delivery
of specialist Occupational Health advice and support to staff.
