Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Practice
Educator to work across both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy at BHNFT on a 12 months secondment/fixed term contract.
The Practice Educator role is
designed to influence the quality of the clinical environment by providing
support, educational input and development activities for both registered and
unregistered healthcare staff and students on pre-registration training
programs.
The role aims to enhance the quality
of practice and positively contribute to the current and future healthcare
professional workforce through providing department specific education and
training, and expanding the knowledge base of clinical staff within the
department. The post holder will work in
close co-operation with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team.
As part of this role the educator
will expect to also work clinically in Occupational Therapy to support the
service and maintain and develop clinical skills.

Main duties of the job
The interview date for this role is 10th April.
Work incollaboration
with the Service Managers and individual Clinical Team Leaders for Occupational
Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Participate in the development of clinical skills
across the Trust in line with the standards and recommendations.
Promote evidence-based practice within Occupational
Therapy and Physiotherapy and promote an effective learning environment.
Develop, implement and deliver department specific
skills training programme, including therapy specific induction
programmes.
Develop, deliver and support both structured and
unstructured training and educational sessions.
Support and advise staff in the expansion of clinical
skills and knowledge.
Support and facilitate the competency-based education
package for new clinical staff.
Support the Registered workforce through post
registration study.
Support and signpost the unregistered workforce to
undertake relevant training and development within their scope of role.
Support the unregistered workforce in progression to
Assistant Practitioner and Registered Professionals roles.
Forge and maintain links with the
various academic establishments involved in Occupational Therapy and
Physiotherapy education.
Maintain links, and work in co-operation
with the training and development department.
