Job summary

A new and exciting role has been created to join a busy and dynamic team within the Trust. The postholder will have responsibility for the delivery of Medical Recruitment at Barnsley Hospital in conjunction with their team and senior medical staff at the Trust. The postholder will also serve as deputy to the Medical Staffing Manager within the department. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to progress their career within Medical Staffing and HR. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their skills and abilities in taking the next step to more senior management within the NHS.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage and lead the development of the Medical Staffing recruitment and HR function at the Trust. The role will also deputise for the Medical Staffing Manager when required.

To support the development of the medical workforce and recruitment strategy at the Trust

To support in a number of key projects including support to Advisory Appointment Committees, plus any ad hoc projects to support in the delivery of Cost Improvement Programmes.

The post holder will work as part of the Medical Staffing Department and as such will be required to carry out a range of support tasks to ensure the effective functioning of the department including quality checking adverts and contracts produced by the Medical Staffing Officer/assistant.

The post holder will act with autonomy in ensuring established standardized systems, processes and procedures are adhered to on a Trust-wide basis.

The post holder will liaise with external agencies and internal customers to deliver high quality, customer focused service supporting the Clinical Business Units in achieving their business objectives through the fair and effective management of medical and dental staff.

The post holder will support the Medical Staffing Manager in monitoring compliance with national standard, developing policy and strategy related to Medical Staffing and will lead on specific projects.
