With a current establishment of over 100 members across all departments we are looking to recruit a compassionate and caring, highly motivated individual to join our already well-established ward-based clinical pharmacy services team.

As a medicines Management Support Worker ,you will work alongside our clinical pharmacists, ward based Medicines Management Technicians, the wider pharmacy team and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the optimal use of medicines for our patients. Providing Pharmacy services close to patients.

The ideal candidate should approachable, adaptable, hardworking, have a good attention to detail and possess a passion for providing patient centred care. Individuals must also be able to communicate effectively, use their own initiative and manage their own time effectively.

Main duties of the job

As a medicines management support worker your main duties will include:

Supporting ward pharmacists and medicines management technicians to record accurate medication histories

Ensuring the safe and timely transfer of patient medications between wards and departments.

Ensuring patients have sufficient medicines available for inpatient use, ensuring doses are not omitted, and investigating when a medication has not been given.

Screening prescription charts for items which require supply & endorsing EPMA records

Delivering patient labelled medicines to individual bedside lockers and wards.

Ensuring that in patient medicines are recovered, assessed and recycled rather than discarded.

Labelling and dispensing inpatient and discharge medication. Responding to urgent requests

Answering or redirecting routine queries from Health professionals and patients about medication related issues.

Participating in weekend, Bank Holiday and late-night duties. as appropriate
