Job summary

A Health Care Assistant band 3 position has arisen on Ward 19 Elderly care where we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to either transfer their band 3 skills or upskill to further their career. You will need to display a passion for delivering person centred care and an eagerness to champion standards of quality and safety.

Ward 19 is a 28 bedded Elderly care ward caring for patients with complex needs including Dementia. Within your role you will be expected to support Registered Nurses in assisting with clinical skills such as recording clinical observations and blood sugars as well as supporting junior members of staff. It's expected that the care that you deliver will be of a high standard.

Main duties of the job

Deliver a high standard of care.

Ensure safety and quality is at the forefront of day to day work.

Ensure that you have upskilled to a band 3 requirements.

Work in a collaborative approach.

Support the junior team i.e CSWs and student nurses.

Support the Registered nurses in the team completing the daily workload.

Have a great MDT collaborative outlook.

Care Certificate.
Completion of a clinical skills competency- based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational qualification level 3, or willingness to undertake.
GCSE Maths & English or qualified to equivalent Functional skills level 2 in Maths & English, or willingness to undertake.

Knowledge and Awareness

Essential

Confidentiality understanding of Information Governance.
Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
Knowledge of clinical patient observations.
Willingness to undertake competencies supported by clinical skills training and education to gain theoretical underpinning knowledge in a range of clinical interventions and use of test equipment e.g. blood glucose monitors, venepuncture, cannulation etc.
