Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a great place to work, and we are pleased to be recruiting for a new member of our Finance team.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our management accounting team on a fixed term basis providing finance support to the Corporate / R&D Function in the trust

As a Senior Finance assistant you will be responsible for delivery of robust monthly reporting and provision of financial advice and training to key members of the Corporate / R&D Team, thus supporting sound financial management in the Trust. A professional approach and attention to detail are key as are excellent time management skills.

We are looking for someone with relevant management accounts experience or qualification, who is reliable and pro-active, who can evidence work of a high standard, communicate well and show commitment to achieving their own goals and those of the Trust.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant, perhaps someone who is undertaking studies towards full professional accountancy qualification.

Main duties of the job

To work within a team of staff to provide a comprehensive financial advice and support service to budget holders, ensuring that accurate financial information is produced on a timely basis and in accordance with professional financial standards.

The post holder will primarily provide support one Clinical Business Units working directly with the finance team and various operational colleagues for the CBU the role encompasses robust production of monthly reporting via the ledger system, ensuring data integrity and timeliness, and advice and training to budget holders in understanding their finances

The post holder will also provide support to corporate trust-wide financial management functions (including cross-cover when necessary) and participate in maintaining and developing financial management systems and processes
